DIARY WRITING IN THESE TIMES

Nikki, my daughter gifted me with a new Acer E-Notebook last Christmas so I could freely blog away my thoughts anywhere I'd go. But that never happened. I had not updated my blogs even with my E-Notebook around.

Yesterday, she lovingly reminded me: "Mom, I gave you that E-notebook for your blogs and not merely for Facebook..."

Yeah, I guess I have been simply getting too addicted to Facebook I no longer find time to share my thoughts or write my daily journal.

In my younger days I always had fun writing to my "Dear Diary." My diary was my best friend with whom I could share all my secrets: my heart's desires, my secret loves, my innermost thoughts that I wouldn't normally share to anybody because I trusted that my diary wouldn't spill them to another soul. In these times of the BLOGS however you can't keep anything a secret anymore.

When I got into the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (1988) I started my spiritual journal or my "Dear Jesus" diary. I poured out all my worries and concerns to Jesus. In the process I would be doing all the ACTS (Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgivings, Supplications). It was also a sort of therapeutic treatment for me whenever I was depressed. Or when I needed some guidance I would feel Him truly giving me some directions.

Then later - around year 2001 - the "Dear Jesus" diary was replaced by my Daily Bible Sharings which found their way into the internet. I started sending these to my internet friends. These in turn gave birth to my "Pilgrim's Reveries" blog at http://pilgrimsreveries.blogspot.com/. But due to a personal crisis in my life I lost all inspirations to continue in this work and thus my other blog has not been updated either. With God's grace I look forward to revive this activity soon.

I hope to write in my blogs as often as I can again instead of spending so much time playing Mindjolt Games, Know-It-All Quizzes, Soduko/Word Challenges at Facebook with friends. But you know what? Facebook is really great!
